Jesús Rafael Soto

Vibración Pura

Ascaso Gallery is please to announce «Vibración Pura», a solo exhibition by Jesús Rafael Soto.

Jesús Rafael Soto is one of the most important and influential figures in kinetic art. During his transformative trajectory, he experimented with form, space and matter. His experimental avant-garde was guided by a particular conception of abstraction, whose purpose was to bring the work of art closer to the viewer.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jesús Rafael Soto, whose importance in the constitution of the avant-garde during the 20th century is central and decisive.

In commemoration of the centenary of his birth, and in collaboration with the Atelier Soto in Paris and fundación Soto in Caracas, we organized this exhibition.

This is the first solo exhibition of the historic kinetic artist in our Miami space and the fifth solo show of him since the establishment of the gallery in 1989.

This exhibition brings together a selection of works from 1951-2004. Which cover several periods on the development of the artist’s plastic research.

Exhibition details:

Opening reception Thursday, November 30th from 6-10 pm.

The exhibition runs until February 29th, 2024.
