Reynier Ferrer was born in Havana, Cuba in 1979. He studied from 2000 to 2004 in the Fine Arts Academy San Alejandro in Havana. He lives and works in Miami today.
His uncle, Edmundo Desnoes, says that Rey gave expression to the suffering of the Cuban people during the years of agony of the revolutionary power, expressing in twilight canvasses the obstinate existence and survival of our country. Now, today, in Miami and New York, the paintings of my nephew express the explosive clash of his native sensibility and the dynamic and brutal world that embraces and recognizes us.
The works of enormous visual power of Reynier, of creative chaos, is for the XXI century what Wilfredo Lam and Rene Portocarrero were for the past century.
